Medications

Medications

Many medications have undesirable side effects which can manifest in the mouth. Some blood pressure medications can reduce saliva flow and dry the mouth, which can contribute to decay. Some anti-depressants can cause clenching and dry mouth, which can cause teeth to crack. Other medications can cause the gum tissues to grow or contribute to gingivitis. Be aware of the side effects of medications and see your dentist for additional information and help.
